SPIDER
VEINS
What
are Spider Veins?
Spider veins are small, thin veins that lay close to the surface
of the skin. Although these super-fine veins are connected
with the larger venous system, you don’t need them,
and you certainly don’t want them. A number of factors
contribute to the development of spider veins, including heredity,
pregnancy and other events that cause hormonal shifts, weight
gain, occupations or activities that require prolonged sitting
or standing, and the use of certain medications.
What can New You do for you?
Dr. Danek uses a simple, safe, and effective laser procedure
for spider vein removal. In all spider vein treatments, usually
2 to 4 sessions are required, depending on the severity of
the veins. Once a vein is removed, it is gone forever. However,
patients who have a tendency to develop spider veins may develop
new ones. A touch-up treatment may be required every two to
three years.
