NAIL FUNGUS
Nail fungus, otherwise called Onychomycosis, is an infection caused by an organism that lives in warm moist environments. It results in thickened, discolored, peeling nail that is often difficult to treat. Conventional treatment of nail fungus requires several months and consists of minimally effective creams or nail polish that need to be applied daily, or strong medications that can cause liver damage. A new laser treatment shows a significant advantage over other treatments, curing 80% of fungus after only one procedure. Improvement in nails can be seen within 2 – 4 months, when new nail begins to grow and the diseased portion grows out.
